Math Trick

This worked on me. Did it work on you? Any ideas why?

It's not really a math trick. It's a trick of association.

If you had never heard of diamonds, the trick probably wouldn't work.

By the way, it worked on me too.

I thought it worked due to the word "Quick". The K sound translates into a vegetable starting with that sound.

Probably that too. The test would be to do it in a foreign language or to substitute another word for quick.

Aaron,

Incidentally, I wish to send you a Christmas present, one full of verve, energy, and pep--quite a lot of it, really--one to remember me by for all future Christmases.

Without your charming personality and engaging writings, I simply don't know what--besides Scientology, Mormonism, and the too often neglected Mohammadism--we would do to entertain ourselves.

Yours.

My guess was eggplant. Does that mean I've got an odd mind?
