Nader's right. I've never understood why these corporations get this handout. And there is definitely a certain level of hypocrisy in Limbaugh's chest-thumping as concerns welfare. I'll have to google it.

Just a couple months ago I was "roughing up" a Republican Electrician. He was whining about NPR, saying it was a Liberal, Liberal, Liberal organization that got taxpayer funding. I pointed out what Nader points out, that Fox News also gets taxpayer "funding", or call it welfare, because it gets free use of public property.

He didn't like that. He didn't like that at all, but it shut him down.

I used to listen to NPR before I understood a thing about politics. I always thought it was the most unbiased news source available because they really take great pains to be accurate in their journalism and their shows are impressively intelligent. Then I realized that there were people in this world who called this "liberal", and I had no understanding of what they were talking about. I think it boils down to the fact that any news source which does not treat fringe unscientifically based ideas as credible viewpoints worth discussing is considered to have a liberal bias. For instance, if the global warming denialists get the 3% of the airtime on the issue that accurately respresents their numbers, and not 50%, that's liberal bias. Then of course, just mentioning certain points of view that reflect the overall population such as minorities, atheists, homosexuals etc... that's liberal bias. Unless they shove a flagpole right up your ass and say a prayer to Jesus someone is going to call it liberal bias. The sad thing is that these stations have become overly paranoid by this accusations and have let them alter their style.
