This exchange between Condoleeza Rice and Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and concerned "rendition flights" of suspected terrorists. I won't editorialize except to say that Rice's attitude is extremely telling and can't help reminding me of Bush's comment that Iraq was the next President's problem.
Tuomioja: "We all agree on the need to fight terrorism but we should do so in a way that does not create more terrorism in the future."
Rice: "Let's deal with those who are trying to kill us now and leave the future for some other time."
Tuomioja: "The future is with us today."
